Agriculture in Whatcom County

Here in Whatcom County over 115 thousand acres of land is actively farmed by 1,702 farms which produce more then 357 million dollars worth of agricultural products.

We are known for being the nation's largest producer of red raspberries, growing 60 percent of the U.S. crop (75 million pounds in 2016) and are first in the nation for milk production per cow. Nearly 38 thousand tons of certified seed potatoes are harvested annually here and we rank 4th in the state for beef production. These are just a few of the many commodities grown in Whatcom County.

Whatcom County Farm Bureau is a voluntary, grassroots advocacy organization representing the social and economic interests of farm and ranch families at the county level. By providing leadership and organizational skills, Farm Bureau seeks to gain public and legislative support on the issues affecting farm and ranch families.
